Many of you are probably aware of the fact that the mass-produced meat is loaded with antibiotics, and we give you a list of the worst restaurant chain offenders.
The following list is a recent collaborative report which ranks the 25 biggest US fast food and restaurant chains, regarding their policies and practices when it comes to the use of antibiotics in their foods.
Once more, Panera Bread and Chipotle Mexican Grill are the only two chains to score an A grade.
According to the CDC, over two million Americans contract antibiotic-resistant infections annually. The American Academy of Pediatrics believes that the excessive use of antibiotics in animals can make bacteria like salmonella, E. coli, and Campylobacter stronger and resistant to drugs, even though they were previously able to destroy them.
The next restaurant chains got F grades in the case of antibiotic use:
- Arby’s
