Over the centuries, people have tried some pretty crazy things in pursuit of weight loss, from chewing but not swallowing to sleeping and not eating.
All diets work to some extent, says Susan Burke March, MS, RD, of Flagler Beach, Fla., a dietician and author of Making Weight Control Second Nature: Living Thin Naturally, because you’re restricting your food intake.
But with diet fads, the weight loss is usually temporary and can be quite dangerous.
So … why is this diet any different?
Apples facilitate the digestion and contain many useful substances that encourage the work of the immune system, preventing the accumulation of fat in the liver and protect against cancer.
Pectin also regulates the intestinal flora. Research shows that 25 grams apple pectin allows a loss of 0.66 lbs. body weight per day.
We also include organic eggs throughout. For one, studies show that eating eggs make you feel fuller for longer. Eggs are packed with a variety of nutrients including protein, zinc, iron and vitamins A, D, E, and B12, but contain just 85 calories each.
The old advice to limit eggs to just a few each week has also been abandoned. According to the Food Standards Agency, there’s now no limit to the number of eggs you can eat in a week as part of a healthy balanced diet.
APPLE DIET PLAN
Based on these properties of apples, we composed a diet that promotes safe weight loss in a very short time. A couple things about this diet to make it effective:
Absolutely no sugar or salt
Only drink water or tea
Drink at least 1 gallon of purified water per day
Day 1-3
Breakfast: 2 apples and 1 boiled organic egg
Lunch: 2 apples and 1 boiled organic egg
Dinner: 1 boiled organic egg
Day 4-7
Breakfast: 2 apples and 1 boiled organic egg
Lunch: 2 apples, 1 boiled organic egg, handful of almonds
Dinner: 1 boiled organic egg
NOTE: If you feel too hungry at any time during the diet you can increase the number of apples. Also, drinking natural sparkling water will help you feel full as well.
