Chocolate Pecan Cheesecake Pie

Advertisements

This is one of the MOST decadent desserts I make for my husband! It’s so yummy! His three favorite desserts are Pecan Pie, Cheesecake and most anything with Dark Chocolate and this dessert has all three. It seems as though it would be difficult to bake but it really isn’t but the results make it seem like it is! I do make my own pie crust but any frozen deep dish pie crust will do.

Loved the layering in this recipe. It looks so pretty… and tastes so good! I always love cheesecake. Pair it with chocolate and pecans… oh my! This is very decadent and a wonderfully special dessert.

Today will talk about the silky chocolate pecan cheesecake!

In my attempt of creating a fall inspired dessert fit for the Holiday season, pecans seem appropriate to be considered one of the ingredients. Simple pecan pie has never been a top choice dessert around here unless, of course, combined with chocolate but cheesecake has always been a favorite of ours.

To make a light, velvety cheesecake that won’t be too heavy on our tummies I decided to keep things simple.

For the crust I used Pillsbury pie crust. We all try to make a 7 course meal to impress family at Holiday dinner table but no one needs to know you cut corners and used a store-bought pie crust to make this cheesecake. Let’s keep it our secret!

Ingredients

  • 1 deep dish pie shell
  • 1 c dark chocolate chips
  • 3 Tbsp whipping cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 3/4 c sugar – divided
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp melted butter
  • 1 c light corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 c pecan halves

How to Make Chocolate Pecan Cheesecake Pie

  1. Fill pie plate with crust or defrost frozen deep dish crust
  2. Beat cream cheese, 1 egg, 1/2 c. sugar, salt and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until smooth.
  3. Pour dark chocolate chips into microwaveable dish and add the whipping cream. Microwave on 50% power until morsels just start to melt (about 1 minute). Remove from microwave and stir with a fork until combined and smooth.
  4. Pour corn syrup, melted butter, 3 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 cup of sugar into medium bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined.

    Stir in pecans.

  5. Pour chocolate mixture into pie crust and smooth out with a spatula until evenly distributed. Pour cream cheese mixture over chocolate and smooth out until evenly distributed, then pour pecan mixture over cream cheese mixture and even out on top of the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 55 minutes (or until set). Cool completely on a wire rack. Store leftovers (if you have any!)in refrigerator.
